Enjoy the award-winning Emo Tea Rooms, a renowned Italian restaurant, and a traditional village pub, all within walking distance. Perfect spot to explore Ireland's ancient East.
The Space
Willow at Gate Lodge Woodland Retreat is a beautifully crafted shepherd's hut, peacefully nestled among ancient trees within the historic grounds of Emo Court and Parklands. Designed for comfort and relaxation, Willow sleeps up to 5 guests and features a double sofa bed, as well as a second double bed with a single overhead bunk in the open-plan living area. The thoughtfully equipped kitchen includes a fridge-freezer, hob, oven and breakfast counter, while the private shower room offers added comfort and convenience. This hut is equipped for wheelchair use. Ideally located, the retreat is just one hour from Dublin city centre and Dublin airport, and only 15 minutes from Kildare Village and Portlaoise. For an extra-special stay, guests may pre-book our exclusive private wellness experience, featuring a wood-fired hot tub, wood-fired sauna and invigorating cold plunge bath (additional cost).

Add a Private Wellness experience to your stay: enjoy exclusive use of our wood-fired hot tub, sauna and cold plunge baths for 1.5 hours. Cost €80 per shepherd's hut or cottage.
